--- title: Sync organization members with GitHub | Stainless docs description: Sync GitHub organization members with your Stainless org in real time. Access is updated automatically based on GitHub org membership. --- Syncing organization members with GitHub is only available on our [Pro and Enterprise plans](https://www.stainless.com/pricing). In addition to managing your organization’s team members manually, you can sync your organization’s members with a GitHub organization. If you have [installed the Stainless GitHub app](/docs/guides/publish#install-the-stainless-github-app/index.md), you can enable syncing members through the members page in the [Stainless dashboard](https://app.stainless.com). Click **Sync with GitHub**, then choose **Edit sync settings**. If you have already invited users to Stainless, make sure they are also in your GitHub org before turning on sync. Otherwise they will lose access. There are two options for syncing: - **Full org**: All GitHub org members get access to your Stainless organization. Users with a Stainless account are added immediately, new users are invited to sign up and then are allowed access. Users are granted Editor access, and you can change their role freely in the dashboard. - **Team sync**: Pick which teams in GitHub have access to your Stainless organization. Each team maps to a role, which is attributed to its members on sync. GitHub team sync is a paid feature. See our [pricing page](https://stainless.com/pricing) for details. Note that [nested teams](https://docs.github.com/en/organizations/organizing-members-into-teams/about-teams#nested-teams) by default inherit their parent’s role. So users are synced with the role assigned to their team, or closest parent. Users belonging to multiple, non-nested teams are assigned the most permissive role. [Secret teams](https://docs.github.com/en/organizations/organizing-members-into-teams/changing-team-visibility) are not supported for syncing by default, [contact us](mailto:support@stainless.com) if you’re interested in this feature. Changes to GitHub organization members should be reflected in Stainless within a minute. Once GitHub sync is enabled you can no longer manually invite users to your organization — add them to the corresponding GitHub org or team instead.
